Objects
Design Thinking exists in both two and three dimensions & across mediums, disciplines and materials. Here are some explorations in Industrial Design and Sculpture.
Book-matched Coffee Table
(Walnut, Leather, Steel, Hardware)
This book-matched three legged table takes inspiration from mid-century table design, and features a leather basket for holding albums.
Messenger Bag
(Leather, Nylon, Black Dye, Thread)
This hand-sewn messenger bag was laser cut from leather using a vector illustrator file I made. "Topographical" etchings were also laser cut from a separate file.

"Organic" Pendant Lamp
(Steel, Copper, Electrical)
In my studio art class we received a brief: create a metal sculpture using sheet steel that incorporates organic forms. This pendant lamp is loosely modeled after wilting flowers, and the long net stinkhorn mushroom.
"Fence"
(Chicken Wire, Fishing Line, Medium Gauge Steel Wire)
This sculpture considers the boundaries that States, municipalities, and others in positions of power draw, and the impact of these choices.
Cajón (Box Drum)
(Laminated Bamboo, Plywood Burl Maple)
Cajóns are Peruvian hand drums that have found their place in lower volume acoustic settings worldwide. This Cajón is unique in that it has a snare mechanism which can be engaged or disengaged, as well as a classic "tobacco-sunburst" finish.
"Pavilion"
(Plywood, Paint, Stain, Dowel, Glue)
This quick project imagines a multi-use space open to the public of Boulder. An alternative title is "Half-Measure" because it was designed with the local homeless population in mind. The structure was designed in Google SketchUp and components were laser cut from Illustrator Files.
Curiosities
Here is is where my one-off and hard to categorize work lives. All of the 3D Renderings here were made in Rhinoceros 8. "What Comes Up Must Come Down" was directed by Nick Leen and Filmed by myself, Evan Stephens, Zach Volheim, and Nick Leen.
